Hora Primary School is a visionary reinterpretation of educational infrastructure, conceived as a "circular agora" that serves as the social epicenter for the Beit Safafa community. Operating under the premise that the built environment is the "third teacher," the design transcends the conventional classroom to become an inclusive learning ecosystem. Our proposal employs an enveloping morphology where curved volumes embrace a central amphitheater, creating a fluid transition between formal study and spontaneous encounter, seamlessly integrating the architecture with the surrounding topography and pre-existing social fabric.
The student experience is defined by the use of traditional latticework (mashrabiya) reinterpreted through algorithmic design, which acts as light and thermal filters, ensuring environmental comfort while creating a poetic play of shadows. By prioritizing spatial porosity and safety through design, the project fosters a sense of belonging and intercultural dialogue. Hora Primary School exemplifies our commitment to an architecture that not only educates but heals and strengthens human bonds, ensuring a resilient legacy of knowledge and peace for future generations.
