Betjala residence represents an evolution in hillside collective housing, where architecture is deliberately fragmented to engage with the site's rugged topography. Operating under the concept of "tectonic morphology," the design consists of a series of shifted volumes that break away from traditional monolithic forms, allowing air and landscape to filter through the building’s interstices. This rhythmic arrangement of planes and voids not only creates an iconic silhouette within the urban skyline but also ensures that each residence functions as an independent entity, maximizing privacy and uninterrupted panoramic views.
The project’s strategy enhances indoor-outdoor living through expansive cantilevered terraces that act as natural extensions of the home. These elements serve as climate-control devices (brise-soleil), shielding interiors from direct solar radiation while promoting natural cross-ventilation. By minimizing the structural footprint on the natural terrain and employing stone-toned materials that chromatically blend with the surroundings, Slope Terraces exemplifies our vision of a dense yet sensitive urbanism, where architectural efficiency and geological harmony coexist for future generations.
